A Special Thanks to My Followers!

I just wanted to give a big thanks to all of my viewers and followers!

Yesterday I presented this site in the “2012 Simpson College Iron Journalist” competition. I went against a lot of hard working, well though out sites! I achieved my goal and won the competition! I couldn’t have done it without all of the love and support I have received from all of you! I am very proud of this accomplishment!

I am very excited for the future of wildfarmkids.com and I know we are doing a great thing by sharing this information with others. Sharing information to educate others on what my family and I wish we had known. Keeps doing your part as followers and share this with anyone you may know! This information isn’t just for parents, it’s for teachers, coaches, mentors, friends, family, or even children that need to understand the harms this can do to not only them, but their families.

I have enjoyed being such a great advocate to spread awareness and to try to stop the choking game. I will continue to keep this site going, to me it wasn’t just a project. It is a way for me to reach out to people that I know and that I don’t know.

As always, keep sending us information or comments! We will post any story about this, just send it our way!

Thanks again, and have a great day!

Around the World in 5 Months

This week marks five months since we lost Joshua as a result of the choking game. Since then we have been doing all that we can to get the word out about this horrible ‘game’ that children are experimenting with.

Over the last few months I have read so  many stories about other families that have experienced the same tragedy as ours. Research has been done, specials have been aired and articles have been written about this, but it is still happening all around us. This is just one site, but it has already touched so many lives and made so many parents aware of this. We have heard from so many families and encouraged them to share their stories, some are ashamed, but their story needs shared. If you can make a purpose out of the death of a loved one and help educate others, it is a rewarding feeling. I have chosen this as my therapy of choice. Listening to others that has been through the same experience helps bring hope to my life.

We have received e-mails from all over the world about our story and site. Our cause has helped and touched more that we ever imagined we could! We were recently approached by a tv station in Los Angeles and asked a lot of questions because they want to do a special on it. I know it is hard to go on air, especially with a story such as this, but you are doing the right thing. When my family and I decided to share our story we did it to educate viewers on something that could be happening in their home.

This has been the hardest thing for us to deal with, and probably always will be. Educating and saving lives is the purpose of this site, and it is what we will continue to do. Feel free to contact us with any story you may know about the choking game and we will add it to our site. E-mails can be sent to; wildfarmkids@aol.com

We enjoy your feedback! Have a blessed day!

Children Are Thrill Seekers!

Do you or someone you know have children? If so, this site has information that you need to read! Children and teenagers have always been thrill seekers, willing to take dangerous risks. But, a growing number of teens nationwide are taking part in a disturbing and potentially deadly trend, known as “The Choking Game.”

It’s not the ‘at risk’ children, it’s the good kids. Children are experimenting with things everyday. Be aware of the dangers in this activity. It is taking lives, and damaging families all over. Whether a child tries it once or a few times, once can be enough to harm them. Take a stand and become educated on this by viewing our site.

I just read another story about a boy named Zachary who was Joshua’s age and died from the choking game on October 14, 2011. His story is heart wrenching. His mother expresses the same feelings, She just didn’t know about this game. Please educate yourselves on this so it doesn’t happen to you or someone you know.

Thanks for taking the step in becoming educated!

Nightline ‘Choking Game’ Special

Nightline Choking Game Spreads on YouTube Full Episode

A mother who lost her only son to the Choking Game. She did a special on ABC’s Nightline. Her son was very involved in sports and Boy Scouts. She can’t get her son back, but she is doing what she can to help help other parents become aware of this “game”.

The Choking Game is still happening all over the world. Parents NEED to be aware that it is real and children are learning it at school, in youth group, camps, at sports, and even more so online! Make sure to talk with your children about this to make sure you can help them before it is too late.

Hoping for better awareness,

WildfarmKids
