Meals from the Heartland is something that Joshua loved helping with. Last year I did this with some of my co-workers. When it was brought up, I instantly had a tug on my heart to do it in memory of him.
Today, I am volunteering again to package meals. This is an awesome community service project, and Joshua talked about it a lot after he did it. He was truly about making a difference in the world. I read from a journal he had and it was in response to what would you do if you had $1,000,000.00? His response was, “I would give it to all the children that don’t have families or food, because I want them to have something.” This is just more proof of the BIG HEART that Joshua had, and his love and care for others.
I encourage all of you to make a difference in this world. We are all given the gift of being able to make a difference in someone’s life. Be a blessing to someone you know, or someone you don’t.
Have a great day!

Worldwide Choking Game Awareness Day 10-11-13
10-11-13
Ages 10 and 11 are the ages kids must be educated of the dangers from playing variations of pass out games because age 13 is the average age of death.
Last year, over 30,000 videos of kids engaging in these activities were uploaded to youtube – and this is only the count from the 3 most common names.
On this day, please share the knowledge that our children are playing these games worldwide with no knowledge of the dangers.
This day is dedicated to the thousands whose lives were cut short or affected by these deadly games.

High School Football
We want to give a big shout out to the B-F freshmen and high school football players! Joshua was so excited to play football in high school, he talked about it all the time! He was anxiously awaiting to be able to play in the big homecoming football game once he got in high school! It is hard to watch the game without him playing.
Remember that life is precious and it can be taken in an instant. Play your hearts out, and we hope you have a great season!
Go Big Blue!

Harder Times
Today would have been Joshua’s 15th birthday! Instead of us celebrating here with him, he is celebrating in Heaven. This is one of the harder times of the year. We remember Joshua for everything that he was! Big heart, big smile, smart, funny, athletic, outgoing, adventurous, artistic, just to name a few.
It is crazy to think back on the last birthday we got to spend with him, two years ago. He would be going into high school in a couple of weeks. How tall would he be? Would his voice change? What things would he be involved in? There are endless questions we could ask ourselves. We all love and miss him very much.
We hope that you will talk to your children about the Choking Game. It is real and is breaking the hearts of families all over the world. All it takes is one time, and your life could be turned upside down. Our lives were completely changed in November 2011. For more information or to read our story, check out our site!
Send us an e-mail with any questions! We’re here to help! wildfarmkids@aol.com
Happy 15th Birthday Joshua Leo!

Pre-Fair Week
Hello Followers!
It’s that time around the farm where we all hustle around to get our final projects ready and complete for county fair! This is a hard time for our family as the county fair was our week-long “vacation”. All of our hard work was showcased at the fair.
This was a week that Joshua loved so much! He was truly an all around 4-Her! One of the best things last year about the fair was being able to hand out the Grand Champion Market Lamb trophy. This is the class that is the hardest to win, and it was an honor for my family to be able to award this. The Cory’s also had Joshua’s picture on the plaques for the open lamb class for the younger kids. My family got to hand these out as well. This was a true honor to be able to do this.
We hope that all the 4-hers, FFA members and families have a fun and safe county fair!

Summer Camps
Hi Followers!
It’s that time of year again, where the kids are getting out of school for the summer!
Many may be thinking about doing summer camps. Make sure you know about the camps you are sending you child to. These are the places that children are learning such things as the choking game. Be sure to talk with your child about the dangers of the choking game and other “games” they may be experimenting with.
Be more educated, and educate your children on what is happening! Don’t be afraid to talk.
If you need any help with topics to use, send us an email at wildfarmkids@aol.com, or check out our information that is already available on our site.
Have a great and safe summer!

2012 Iron Journalist
Hello Followers!
It is hard to believe that a year ago this site was presented at Simpson College for the Iron Journalist Award!
This site won the college’s Iron Journalist award for the presentation of Keri’s senior multimedia capstone project on April 19, 2012. Judged by a panel of professional journalists, Keri won for her creation of this site that educates families on the dangers facing young people. The Choking Game.
We wanted to thank you all for a great year of following, educating, sharing and saving lives. The stories and messages that have been shared with us are truly amazing and they are the reason we continue to keep this site going. Feel free to share this site with anyone with children or people who are in contact with children. Tell Us Your Story
Hello Followers!
Exactly a year ago we posted this, “This site has already proven that more awareness needs to be out there about the Choking Game. Please feel free to share any story that you may have that applies to the choking game. If you or someone you know has lost a loved one to this, please share with everyone what happened. The site is looking for stories about this that need to be told. The hardest thing to do is to open up about something so tragic as this. Trust me, it could help save a life.”
We are again asking for your story! The way to spread awareness is by sharing. We know it is hard to open up, but it could save a life. If you or someone you know has been a victim of the choking game, or if you have helped get the word out, tell us! We’d love to hear your story!
Feel free to post a story on here, or send us an e-mail to wildfarmkids@aol.com. If you would like your story posted on our site, we are happy to do so!
Thanks again to all of our supporters!

Ways to Prevent

When thinking about all that we have done to help prevent this from happening to other families, we have found that it is like second nature now.
Daily I wear my “Joshua Bracelet”. On this bracelet it says, “Joshua Leo Engle Big Heart, Big Smile” the inside says his favorite verse, “Joshua 24:15” As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. This bracelet is blue and white tie-dye. This is a simple way to spread awareness, people are always interested in the story behind jewelry. Don’t be afraid to talk about it to someone, when people ask me about it, that is the easiest way to tell them about Joshua and about what happened.
Keeping our website current with stories, information and sharing what we are doing. When this site was created it was hard to find a good source that was up to date and frequently updated. That is why we strive to post often and share our story as much as possible. If you’re not telling someone your story, then you’re not helping to prevent it from happening to someone else.
Word of mouth. Though it is hard to just bring it up, we have found that people always ask about your family, kids or siblings. This makes such an easy go ahead to talk about it. Though it was very hard to just talk about it, we have found that it gets better the more you talk about it and by being educated on the matter, it also makes it easy.
If you know someone who may be experimenting with the choking game, share our story or site. This isn’t something that should be taken lightly. We have many helpful tools that you can use. We have made brochures for schools that can be sent to any school you think is in need. The information and help is here, don’t be afraid to ask for it.
As always, keep doing your part and spread awareness.
If you have a story that you’d like us to share feel free to send it to us! If you would like awareness tools, we have that for you! E-mail us @ wildfarmkids@aol.com, like and follow us on facebook @ WildFarmKids, follow us on twitter @WildFarmKids or keep coming to our site for more information.
Have a great Tuesday!
